My thoughts and prayers and wishes for the best for you on the south coast. Do what you can to be as safe as you can in the next short and long time and realize that people all over the world are watching and care enough to come help.



People not on the south coast, the gulf coast area and people will need help for a long long time. Plan your vacation for the next 6 months and get off your computers and go do something. Support small private groups and individuals as they are the most effective as far as getting immediate relief, rather than RedCross (Salvation Army was doing better across LA/MS though). If someone asks for tarps, or medicines, or food, or money, or cell phone to take to donate, please help in any way you can.

Katrina was and remains a disaster. Rita will be also. The devastation is huge, overwhelming, so pick something you can do and just get going. The government and big groups are too bureaucratic to help, we MUST help one another or sink.
