Things haven't changed too much over the last 200 years |
|
Republicans back then were known as federalists and they did pretty much the same kind of thing that they are doing now, looking out for their own self intrests and solidifying thier own power structure as well as taking away civil liberties. The Republicans back then, or, as they are known today, democrats, believed in helping the poor, supporting new immigrants, and were generally against military movements whenever possible. They also believe in preserving civil liberties.
Gee... things haven't changed too much since.

1. And they won't any time soon |

The same fights will be fought over and over again. The structure of power may change a bit, but power never goes away. As long as we continue to create civilization, society, community, in the way that we've been doing it for thousands of years, it'll be the same crap again and again.
