Jaw-Dropping Freeper Conclusion: Press Should Help Homeless
Apprently the thought is that those reporting on the lack of evacuation plan for the homeless, are responsible because they are THERE, therefore they should evacuate them themselves.

If you think I'm kidding...I'M NOT!!

1. I need a shower.......
so now its the media who should get people out........government isn't responsible.

I loved the one about road construction in Washington state...that liberals make equipment operators take all kinds of courses on how to operate machinery. He think one hour is enough training....

2. God, they're stupid - and always thinking micro
Don't they know that there are more than just two homeless people in wheelchairs in Houston? I'm sure they did call and try to get them help but that's not the point. The point is there are probably thousands of people that can't get out of the city themselves, not that James can't get out of the city. They always miss the point!!! It seems like it's the same thing on any other issue too.

3. There's a certain amount of sense in that, as you state it
If someone's driving by a pond and sees someone drowning, we'd think badly of them (well, I would) if they said 'someone ought to do something' and then drove on.

The thesis that members of the press are absolved of human responsibility by being in-rôle doesn't sit well with me. I suspect that the 'professional detachment' they so often display is what gets them called newsghouls.

(Of course, I daresay the freepers have a more complicated thesis than the bare way you said it--such as a claim that BushCo is off the hook as long as there are press people who aren't doing their utmost to act as rescuers.)
