1. Why? Mitchell, Kay, and Hitler Hitchens are FReepers.
Why does our side need 'balance'. The Right has no such balance, DAMN IT!

I want a liberal Fox News Channel.

4. Hitchens, obviously, is on the other side, but...
You'll see freepers railing against Mitchell and Kay probably more often than you see DUers doing the same.

6. Kay and Mitchell are the enemies.
Though I expect Kay to tone it down for this show.

You'll see freepers rail against Mitchell and Kay even more than you'll see DUers do it...

7. Mitchell and Kay are freepers?
Sure, I'll give you Hitchens of course, but I can point out plenty of instances of the rightwing railing against both Mitchell and Kay at one time or another. Freepers LOATHE Andrea Mitchell.

10. See this link:
http://www.anycities.com/andyhifi/news/kattykay.htm

"Katty Kay is based in Washington DC and it appears that she has become associated with the beltway insider pundit crowd. Katty Kay's right-wing bias in her reports becomes apparent when she uses right-wing think-tank talking points. The right-wing pundits are comfortable with Katty Kay's right-wing leanings enough that they allow her to appear on their right-wing pundit round-table talking-point TV shows. When right-wing pundits like NBC's Tim Russert and the Fox News shows invite Katty Kay to be on their shows, they know she's going to repeat a few right-wing talking-points that favor Republicans and bash progressives. When Katty Kay anchors the BBC News, she usually downplays any reports that could make Republicans look bad and invites "political analysts" from the same pool of right-wing talk show pundits that American shows use and lets them bash progressives. Katty Kay is supposedly a non-partisan foreign press reporter, but she repeatedly bashes Democrats like John Kerry with right-wing talking-points. Katty Kay is practically a Fox News correspondent and is proof that the BBC is not "liberal."

2. Don't know why Maher feels this need to be "fair and balanced"
there are just so few shows that actually speak the truth about the state of affairs today. Why let freepers come on and spew their lies and venom on a show that can be used to illuminate the truth?

I know he will debunk their rhetoric (to a certain degree). But I'd rather hear real progressive voices telling it like it is and what should be done than neocons circling the wagons for their master and chief idiot!:grr:

11. I agree
It's so rare to hear sense on TV - why mix it with the usual nonsense.

13. Having a neocon or two on his show gives him the perfect avenue to
do his thing, and Bill is always on his game, so no neocon is ever a match for him. He uses the neocons to set himself up for a good rant.

3. Blech.
Sounds like a shitty lineup.

Although I do like saying "Katty Kay" over and over. She wins the "Fun Name Of The Year" award!

12. Three freeps equal one Galloway?
He'll set them straight.

I hadn't realized that Andrea Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan.

14. Palast in the place of Hitchens would have been more interesting
Given how Palast has been warning about Galloway.

15. Galloway will have them for lunch, and when Maher is arguing from the left
...he can wipe the floor with any one of them with a hand tied behind his back.

Quite frankly, I LIKE IT when he has the enemy aboard. The supporters of the enemy will watch, and see their arguments deconstructed before their very dull eyes.

Maher doesn't let them get away with anything, and when they use their standard tactics which work with such success on the networks (changing the subject, blaming Clinton's penis, talking on and on and on without getting to the point just to waste time, and ascribing motives to those on the other side of the issue instead of confronting the issue itself) Maher will CALL THEM ON IT, cut them off, demand an answer, and not do it politely, either.

Those "BULLSHIT!!!!" moments are well worth the pain of enduring the shovels of bullshit in the first place--and who knows, maybe a few clowns watching will get an education....think about it: the Monkey did not go from an enormous approval rating to swirling in the toilet without some of his dullard loyalists having a light bulb moment--and ya gotta get their asses in the seats before you can pass the collection plate!

16. But Maher needs to tow a hard line against these SOB's.
Not ONE inch may be ceded to Hitchens/Kay, not ONE INCH, and he must back up Galloway 100%!

17. One thing I will say for Bill, he does not allow one side to be beaten up
He will jump in to allow equal time, even if he does not agree. If they cannot make the case, then, that's their own fault for not winning the "war of ideas."

It wouldn't surprise me if he THIRD WAYS an argument or two, as he is occasionally wont to do.

Why the fear over the drunken popinjay? He is such a dipshit, and odds are good, since the show is live, that he'll be half in the bag already--the sun will be well over the yardarm, and I'm sure Craft Services in the green room will have a few bottles of his brand in stock...
