The Patriot-News of Harrisburg, Pa. heard from dozens of readers who objected to Thursday's Page One photo of a meth delivery suspect making an obscene gesture. One wrote: "What were you thinking, to put the picture of some lowlife giving the finger on the front page of the newspaper?" Executive editor David Newhouse writes: "We thought very carefully about whether we should publish the photo, knowing it had the potential to offend. ...We believed that this photo powerfully drove home the true impact of drugs."

1. I don't know who is more idiotic: the offended, or the editor:

What about it made you think that? I don't take drugs and I flip the bird occasionally. :shrug:
