Bush: "We will make sure that my entourage does not get in the way..."

Don't you just hate having to deal with celebrities and their entourages?

Especially when you are trying to respond to a catastrophe!

After Katrina flop, Bush polishes up Rita response
By Alan Elsner 25 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - This time,
President George W. Bush is determined to get it right.

<snip>

Bush's approval ratings have plummeted to all-time lows in recent polls. Most put his favorability at around 38 percent to 41 percent and his image as a strong and decisive leader has taken a serious hit.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan on Thursday dismissed suggestions that Bush's trip to Texas was mainly a photo opportunity and the president himself on Friday said there was no danger he presence would impede rescue operations.

"We will make sure that my entourage does not get in the way of people doing their job, which will be search and rescue immediately," Bush said.

"in-TER-ige."

(Rhymes with "courage" — another word he doesn't know.)

8. Sure he will
I can tell you that when a Council person shows up at a Fire Scene (where one Captain is diverted from fire fighting to escort the dude around) or in a Red Cross shelter (with aide, one or two media people, satellite truck) - the politician gets in the way.

Multiply that N-fold for secret service, advance people, media people, satellite truckS, people who want to be "seen with the President", all manner of local political hangers on, and the usual screening --- and Bush and his entourage will get in the way.

20. Even for a bastard like him, we have to be fair
He was using the term that the reporter, David Gregory I think, used in a question to him.

The man has plenty of actual faults to pick on but he did use the word in a slightly sarcastic way, echoing the question put to him.
