Why is * REALLY @ NorCom after EXTENDING National State of Emergency?
:tinfoilhat:

I admit I'm paranoid. I also know my paranoia isn't completely unfounded. I feel something is up what with "a Pentagon exercise simulating the declaration of a martial law in Washington, DC," the protest and Bush's extending "the terrorism-related state of National Emergency he declared after 9/11" (See this DU Thread for discussion) I can't help but feel DOUBLY paranoid.

He isn't there to monitor the hurricane. That is OBVIOUSLY a cover for something. What the fuck is up?

I'll say this: IF there is another major ersatz 'terrorist attack'™ this weekend, it won't be because they weren't forewarned.

Alternate option: Potential countercoup? Why does he need to be at the center of the MILITARY umbrella overseeing both Homeland Security and FEMA?

17. Maybe. But we do understand how they "operate" (couldn't help that).
Cheney and Rumi have been deeply imbedded in the National Security Sate apparatus most of their adult lives. They have access to the highest levels of secure communications and military command structures. If they want Cheney to be 'invisible', they can make him always pull a bait and switch.

Edited on Fri Sep-23-05 02:23 PM by lyonn
Hear it is lovely up there this time of the year. Since they keep him on the move this has got to be real nice for him and his cast and crew.

Edit: Just heard he is skipping TX and heading straight for his high.

8. Alteratiuve option
He is, as NBC reporter David Gregory said in a question today "Overcompensating."

rather than responding normally and appropriately to a hurricane, he has to make up for his performance last month by going to the Sooper-Dooper Command Center to look like he is actively engaged this time.

12. In all fairness, where can he go?
He can't stay at the White House to "monitor" the hurricane, although this would be the most likely place. After all, he would be surrounded by "hundreds" (media whore assessment) of anti-Bush demonstrators this weekend, literally imprisoned in his office. This wouldn't look good to his base: "Strong, resolute President" seemingly held captive.

He can't go to his "ranch" in Crawford. Then he would be subjected to Rita, and might actually be in danger. Can't have that. To paraphrase Leona Helmsley, "Only the little people confront dangerous hurricanes."

So where else is there for him to go?

14. I don't buy it.
He isn't in charge (any more than he was on 9/11 or during Katrina).

It doesn't seem to me that they much care what we think about his handling of events. The BEST he and his maladministration can say is that they are INCOMPETENT. The reality is, they have gotten (and gotten away with) everything they set their sights on, thanks to 9/11. Even Katrina, although a 'disaster' for those who suffer it and a public relations 'disaster' THEY still are making out like high-hog bandits and getting away with THAT too.

10. The more I think about this, the more worried I'm getting.
They need a pretext to use nukes in the middle east, that has already been established. They need a pretext to institute the draft. They need a reason to clamp down on 'dissent' -- they'd like to outlaw it completely if they could.

But the long range plan has always been to make the Constitution irrelevant. They've already gotten quite a long way down that road. We have no REAL President (Bush is NOT a President--he is a interloper and a sock puppet). Congress has been so marginalized as to be nearly irrelevant. Our votes don't count as we cast them. What's left? (Speculation): Get rid of all the symbols of the old Republic and make way for the New, Corporate REICH?

Rove; "Mission Accomplished": It's ALL about image for people to record, off to their BBQ's...Sadly no one pay attention to the important anti-war protest, only what they see, hear and told what to think, from MSM, all image...

It works, unfortuanately...
