Sorry, I'm in SC, but I will be glad to try to keep this post at the top.

Tell him that there are many of us pulling for him. How terrible to leave a pet homeless and without food in a disaster. (OK - I know there are some people who have no choice, but there are some who just don't care.)

south of hwy 22 is under mandatory evac order, the last report i had by cell phone is that traffic is terrible, you do not want to be on the northshore right now if you don't have to be & you should not try to enter the area if you're not already there

the blog you link to is showing me an update from thursday

nothing abt any crated animals on the northshore

but, truly, at this point there is nothing to be done but to get them to the highest floor of whatever structure he's in & to do the same for himself

5. As close to NO as is safely possible...

I believe that he wants to stay as close to the city as possible, so that he can resume rescues with minimal delay after Rita passes. Even and evacuated house would do. He just needs permission.
