Is the so-called leadership going to be AWOL again during an impending disaster?

Where's Condi?
Where's Rove?
Where's Chertoff?

Who's in charge?

13. But was Rove not appointed by *
to oversee the rebuilding in the Gulf area following Katina?

But I guess fund-raising for the Repugs is more important than assisting the people in NOLA with getting their lives, homes and jobs back in order! What a POS he is!

I am very suspicious. The anti-war protest is tomorrow. It just gives me an eerie feeling.

5. Cheny, Rove, Condi were standing with Bush at his press conference
yesterday. It seems to have been a very quick recovery for Cheney who had to stand on his feet all the time the Chimp raved on about "terraists..over there and here in the form of "these storms." :eyes:

The New Fema Guy seems to have been sent out today...Haven't seen much of Ghoul Chertoff..

16. And did you notice the expressions on all of their faces?
Frowning, scowling and watching Bush as if they were anticipating him to either do something really stupid or perhaps lose it there before the cameras. Why were they all lined up there anyway? It was strange.

17. Except towards the end...Cheney was "chuckling" as if he didn't have
a care in the world. I don't think Cheney should have been standing that long if he had the procedure described here on DU...he could "throw a clot" or bleed..yet..there he was!

I agree...it was a BIZARRE Press Conference...including "Where is Bianca." :eyes:

19. We should put Jeb Bush in charge along with his "Chang" that guards him
like a "fairy godmother." He could give out "golden swords" to those who will avenge his older brother...

Gack!

8. It's bizarre.
I would expect that, during a known impending crisis, they would be hunkered down in the damn Situation Room, getting their communications all hooked up with the relevent parties in on the scene, not necessarily to micro-manage, but to be there for when the inevitable surprises come. I mean, a quick intervention from the top can mean a lot when seconds or minutes can save lives.

Obviously Nagin didn't have it, but the Mayors of Galveston and Houston should have all their calls monitored for the next 72 hours so that they don't even have to ask for help, the leadership would KNOW what was needed because they would hear the traffic. Leaders wouldn't necessarily even have to "intervene", just make sure it was easy for the help and response to happen.

Why is he CO? He should be where we pay him to be. He shouldn't be in CO sucking up to rich people and drinking in all the millionaire resort bars.

11. If the "off the wagon" thing is true,
they may be going to CO to keep him under wraps. He announced earlier that he had "abandoned plans to visit Austin" (the FEMA "staging area") and would monitor the storm from the "northern command post" in Colorado??(I think that's what they said?)

With everything logistically entailed in moving a POTUS from place to place, I must say this "preznit" makes more last minute changes than any I've ever seen before. Fits with the above scenario IMO. HMMM

I cannot believe they all left because of the protest marches.

I feel the level of paranoia going-up.
