1. Story-rating is like Diebold vote: it will only record... |
|
one-star (lowest) rating no matter how you vote. Having discovered that, I didn't bother to go on to the other survey, which no doubt is now similarly pre-directed (so that ANY vote yields the result the oligarchy wants). Thank you, MSNBC.

4. It doesn't matter anyways |
|
We know the truth about how people feel and so do they. I don't bother with polls unless it's someone calling like Gallup or whatever. They don't even matter either since Bush still has the power of the House and Senate.

2. As other DU posters have mentioned, Dubya's failure -- |
|
-- in Iraq is not only significant in and of itself as a foreign policy disaster, but it took way less time for the American public to realize it had been done wrong, betrayed, lied to, and sold down the river of torture and no-bid contracts -- an awareness reached WAY faster than it came to the same kind of realization about Vietnam.
Bush deserves his status as an abject failure, and we can only regret that it has come at the great expense of human lives -- our soldiers and many more Iraqi citizens, and U.S. standing as a beacon of freedom and democracy -- an image very difficult to put forth when one's government is detaining and torturing human beings.
Dubya was told not to attack Iraq. He ignored literally millions of world citizens and now he is drowning in a colossal failure.

3. * also ignored the intelligence community and weapons inspectors. |

Thanks for the perspective on Vietnam vs. Iraq. It seems it's taking America a long time to awaken, but as you said - we as a nation are getting smarter over time.

That's what is definitley surprising. I do believe we as a country are a lot smarter than people give credit. We fell asleep for a while but I believe a lot of people are waking up and pissed off.

6. Yes -- I should have mentioned * 's refusal to listen to -- |

-- David Kaye and all the other sources who told him the weapons were no longer there and that Iraq posed no assaultive threat.
