Seems like ANSWER should really be called QUESTION

I had never heard of ANSWER before tonight and generally I consider myself informed about key activists groups here in the US. My bad I guess that I didn't immediately recognize the acronym and associate it with a group and mission.

So I decided to google them to see who they were, who was driving them, etc.... this is what I found.

ANSWER Steering Committee:
IFCO/Pastors for Peace
Free Palestine Alliance - U.S.
Haiti Support Network
Partnership for Civil Justice - LDEF
Nicaragua Network
Alliance for Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines
Korea Truth Commission
Muslim Student Association - National
Kensington Welfare Rights Union
Mexico Solidarity Network
Party for Socialism and Liberation
Middle East Children's Alliance

Given this list of somewhat eclectic orgs, that is why I think they should be called QUESTION. To further that line of reasoning with a "question" of my own, how many DU'ers can honestly say they KNOW at least 1 person in 6 or more (1/2) of the listed orgs ?..... and we wonder why the labels are so easy for the repugs to find....

I am really sorry such a great opportunity for a united voice was squandered. Thanks anyway DUers that did show up, I can only hope the numbers speak loudly to the masses and they will not have the drive or curiosity to investigate the sponsor.

on edit: I forget the S.... sorry.

1. ANSWER is nothing but a front group for World Workers Party.
They have their own agenda.

2. Here's more info on ANSWER
From Wikipedia:

ANSWER"—is a protest organization established by the International Action Center, which was founded by former United States attorney general Ramsey Clark and has taken a leading role in the post-9/11 antiwar movement. The organization characterizes itself as anti-imperialist, and its steering committee consists of socialists, civil rights lawyers, and progressive organizations from the Muslim, Arab, Palestinian, Filipino, Haitian, and Latin American communities...

...Other prominent organizational endorsers include the Freedom Socialist Party, Green Party USA, and Vietnam Veterans Against The War Anti-Imperialist. Prominent individual endorsers include comedian Dick Gregory, Robert Meeropol of the Rosenberg Fund for Children, author Michael Parenti, and historian Howard Zinn.

3. Has Michael Moore ever voiced any thoughts on ANSWER...
and their leadership? Just curious since he is a big supporter of Cindy Sheehan and the anti-war movement.
