Senator Sessions of Alabama at the pro-war march in D.C.
Which should encourage each and everyone of us. With Sessions presence there, along with a very small crowd, we should not be overly concerned that the misguided people are in charge of everything. It is encouraging to compare the numbers of the pro-war forces and the anti-war forces. Now Sessions is saying the people that were there yesterday do not represent the majority of America - as if their small group of brainwashed and misguided warriors and victims is somehow reflective of the majority of America.

2. But you know what?
I was just thinking how sad it is that they have elected leaders participating in their 'protest' while I saw none at the anti-war rally. So WTF? Why do they get congressmen to come and speak to their people and they are also sending letters to be read to the crowd, while no politicians that I am aware of participated in the anti-war rally yesterday?

5. You missed Representative Cynthia McKinney from GA?
You have got to look at the video. There is a point were she pauses half way through her speech and she scans the crowd. You can tell she doesn't believe her eyes. Then she smiles, she lights up like she just saw her favorite best friend. It was very cool.

7. What video?
All I saw was CSPAN coverage and I don't remember any congressional folks.

6. Check out canofun

They got Barbara Lee, Lynn Woolsey and Cynthia McKinney. And although I didn't see, wasn't Conyers leading the actual march itself.

And you know what? Kucinich, the CBC, and the other members of the Out Of Iraq caucus are speaking out on this issue every working day in the House, why should we begrudge them their weekend off?

8. Those films are just of protesters walking in the streets in DC.
No congressional leaders speaking.

And I am going to argue with you about the Out of Iraq caucus taking THIS particular weekend off. Come on now and think about it.

3. He's an idiot. We Pro-Peace marchers obviously have the clear majority

He can't count.

A little off topic:

Did you see Cynthia McKinney's (Democratic Representative from GA)speech on C-Span yesterday? Did you see her face when she paused and scanned the crowd? Her face lit up like she just saw her favorite best friend. It was very touching. I think she is my favorite Representative in Congress now.

9. I don't know how "youse guys" do it!
I salute you all! You obviously have much stronger nerves and stomachs than I. I turned that crap on for a little bit when I got home from church, heard the idiot who called the antis un-American, and then introduced Sessions. (who was that jerk, anyway?)I saw Sessions face, and that was enough for me. I felt another few hairs on my head turn grey and clicked off the station. I'd rather see Leslie, believe it or not!

Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 12:24 PM by moobu2
children are serving in the military? I guess this photo was taken when he was sworn in in 2002, 3 years ago, sooo I suppose his 3 children are well into military service age. I think I'm going to send him an email and ask if they serve and if not why not.
His 3 children are on the left.

she must have been the finale. I was with the other Du'ers as the speeches were wrapping up. We heard them announce that poetry will be read and went for the streets!
