Not to beat this "Broussard" issue to death, but I wasn't aware
that he was the target of the "blogosphere".

I haven't run across anything negative about him on the blogs.

What gives?

2. They have been trying to discredit him
for 3 weeks now. He made them look bad.

Funny thing is, I don't think he cares.

4. wingnuts pointed out the holes in his story
truth, jefferson parish politics, and aaron broussard have a fraught relationship at the best of times

to attack him for this, mis-speaking some points of detail after he'd been awake for several days trying to save ppl in a natural disaster, seems a silly & stupid thing to do

the main point is that the woman died at st. rita's nursing home, as did 30-plus other elderly patients, in st. bernard parish for lack of aid

wingnuts want to parse out exactly what day she died, was it aug. 29 (in other words, immediately) or was it sept. 2 as broussard believed after hearing the story second hand, keep in mind broussard was working in jeff parish as was his assistant, the son of the killed woman, so he came by the story as a game of telegraph

if these wingnuts be so bold, let them come into kenner, louisiana & investigate the real scandals, but bring lawyers, guns, money, & kevlar...on second thought, these chickenhawks are not going to do anything real abt corruption in jeff parish, but they're happy to kick anybody in the head after he's already down

they're scumbags

5. Powerwimps and the other nutbars on the right are failing
in trying to diminish the strength of the pictures after Katrina. It is a whole new paradigm where TRUTH is the coin of the realm and all they have is the toxic soup waters from NOLA to try and smear everyone who speaks the TRUTH.

Broussard's first MTP appearance appeared everywhere and the rightwingers are still in shock that they are held in complete contempt for their incompetence that is being proven over and over again. The rightwing liars are not in control anymore and We, THE PEOPLE, know it!

6. I heard Broussard speak live that first time
and he was talking about the federal failure in general and that is and was the truth.

The nursing home example was an example of failure- at the time he made his statement no one knew what had happened at St Rita's nursing home- now we seem to know- it does not diminish his point that femass failed and they were busy with press conferences and not action.

11. Broussard was eloquent today...
He challenged anyone to a debate about what went on during Katrina. As emotional as he was 3 weeks ago, he was pissed today.

He called Russert on the ambush question and laid into whoever was trying to discredit his his account of events. It was an impassioned and direct response. There was no way out for Russert.

I think we should hear more of Broussard in the coming months re: investigations. He has those soft southern speech mannerisms but underneath, the man is a tiger.

7. Article on powerlineblog.com refutes Broussard's account of the......
the mother of his friend dying in the nursing home flood in St. Bernard Parrish. Don't give IT much credibility.

9. I heard Fox News (Is it Bret Hume?) make snide comments
about Broussard a week or so ago.

He said/read it like a news report. According to him, Broussard was mistaken, and the emotional outcry was misguided. Hume said that it was later learned that Mr. Broussard had been mistaken and that the woman didn't drown in the nursing home because nobody came.

SO.. don't know about the blogosphere, but Faux was certainly catapulting the propaganda, as usual.

10. Well, he's a Democrat, for starters...
and second of all, the "bloggers" Russert is giving so much credence to are probably the scary wingnuts no one bothers to read.

14. Maybe the Freepers should just be countered with; "Aw, it's only
16 words" (or however many) -- they seem to be more than ready to accept that type of "argument".

16. I read a detailed roast of him
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 01:37 PM by MissWaverly
saying that the people in the nursing home really died Monday, and this
was a Liberal opportunist exploitation of the hurricane situation to
advance the dirty liberal cause. It really doesn't matter if Broussard
use the right grammar and syntax here, the bottom line is that a bunch
of elderly nursing home residents were left defenseless to die and were not evacuated to safety. The RWs are very good at narrowing the focus
until it shifts the burden of guilt off them.
