At the "Support the Troops" Rally
So I'm just curious. At the "support the troops" rally, is there any talk of:

1. Improving quality of life for our troops

2. Ensuring troops have adequate benefits and health care

3. Ensuring they have the tools they need (armored vehicles)

4. Stop-loss measure

It seems to me this is a pro-Bush rally, not pro-troops.

1. It's a pro-Keep Killing Innocent Iraqis rally is what it is.
The irony is, I bet most of them call themselves "pro-life".

4. I didn't watch the entire time but it seemed what little I did see
had the repug Congress men speaking on stage outnumbering the pro-war zealots listening. When Sessions took the stage I switched channels - too nice of a Sunday to "spoil my beautiful mind" with such silly nonsense.

If brains were dynamite there wasn't enough in that crowd to blow Bush's nose.

8. I see it as more like
"Let's win this here game!"

I honestly believe they don't care who their enemy is or about the cause or the stakes. They're all about winning.

Because, y'know, it's really all just a big football game.

3. It's really an anti-antiwar protest protest.
I've never heard of a "pro-war" or "pro-Bush" rally happening separately from an antiwar rally. It's not that they love Bush or his bogus war so much; it's that they hate the people who object to Bush and the war. They make themselves feel good and strong and "patriotic" by objecting to the opinions of those who think Bush is an ass and his war is a fraud. Plus -- if they held their own rally apart from one of ours, everyone would see how sparse and lame and stupid it was.

5. It IS a pro-bush rallly..........
it has nothing to do with supporting the troops. I can't understand why C-SPAN is giving so few dead-enders so much attention though. There aren't' enough people there for a decent cookout.

10. You're right, and that's exactly my point
This rally had nothing to do with the troops, and everything to do with Bush.

If it was about the troops, they would have been talking about the issues I listed.

7. I love that the AP tiltled their article
"Praise, Anger at Pro-War Rally in D.C. ".
