the effort to mobilize the effort in WW2. I mean how much of the logistics and management experience served the nations ability to mobilize from peacetime pursuits to a war footing.

sad in a way to see "1933" on a bridge abutment, knowing that was the last time anyone built stuff for the people. I see such a bridge in our county, along with the rock walls next to the lake. They are still there after all these years. No one has the money to replace them, and besides, new construction wouldn't be as good. Damn, they made stuff to last back then. There is WPA/CCC construction all over rural CA and it is all still in use.
