Some how these people must pay more than just low poll ratings. Now that B is running all over for photo ops something else needs to be done to call them to account.

Can a peoples group do the suing?

1. I'm not sure, but you could look at the families of 9/11
and see if there is a parallel there. If it weren't for the families of 9/11 victims, we would not have had the 9/11 Commission. Remember, * fought against that commission for a long time until the voices of the 9/11 families grew too loud.

The question is, can and will the families of Katrina follow in the same manner, pressuring Congress for an independent investigation and possibly taking legal action.

2. While we're at it,
let's look into suing the state of Florida and SCOTUS for the cost of the war in Iraq.

3. Just the facts??
Don't blow your credibility on such a losing proposition ,, the governor of LA denied access to FEMA and the Red Cross with Food, Water and medicine because she wanted to encourage the people there to leave....

7. Excuse me, it was Bush and the Federal Government
that deliberately withheld assistance. Please get your facts straight.

4. Convention Center
At least three healthy babies died of heat exhaustion and dehydration at Convention Center. One six year girl raped and had throat slit. I would think the parents would have a case against Chertoff.

8. Stay Tuned...
While I doubt anyone could sue FEMA or the Feds for a wrongful death suit from the Superdome, there are other things that could open up some doors for some interesting litigation. The breeching of the levees may be the key...as it appears there is Federal negligence in not just upgrading, but maintaining the system that led to the massive flooding and subsequent deaths.

The real abandonment that went on here were millions of people losing whatever faith they had in this regime's ability to protect them, look after their best interests and can't be honest with them. All the photo-ops won't "do-over" what millions saw...an American city where it's citizens were deserted for days to die and suffer. This image won't be erased too soon.

9. Under the law, they cannot be sued for this
Sorry, but FEMA and all governmental officials are exempt from any lawsuits related to response or non-response to a disaster under the law.
