Awwww. Poor Widdle Chimpy!!!! Waken from his nap for a photo op!!!!
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 08:39 PM by CatWoman
Or so says Newsweek:

The president didn't look all that relieved or happy, however. His eyes were puffy from lack of sleep (he had been awakened all through the night with bulletins), and he seemed cranky and fidgety. A group of reporters and photographers had been summoned by White House handlers to capture a photo op of the commander in chief at his post. Bush stared at them balefully. He rocked back and forth in his chair, furiously at times, asked no questions and took no notes. It almost seemed as though he resented having to strike a pose for the press.

Now, what would make a man puffy-eyed, cranky and fidgety?

1. F--- him! Let him sleep in the NO convention center for a few nights
and then see how puffy his widdle eyes are! I have no compassion for him--it's being used now in thinking about the people of the gulf coast and Iraq!

Zima guy, do us all a favor and resign now, go back to Crawford and drink to your shriveled heart's content because at this point the loss of a few more brain cells will hardly matter.

36. Certainly doesn't sound like someone who has received bulletins all night
Someone who gave instructions to be updated throughout the night, even when he was sleeping, is not someone who would be cranky that those orders were followed. It does also not describe someone who appears resentful that the storm was downgraded to a Category 3, as if an even more deadly storm is the only one worthy of interrupting his night's sleep.

Junior had a hangover. Either that or he's in withdrawal.

14. What does it say when he resents being disturbed from his
usual routine, and is forced to pay attention to the suffering of Americans? You just know he is pissed that he actually has to appear to be involved. I'll bet he is treating his staff like crap over this.

12. Crank-y.
Crank-ee. Crank. Crankity-crank-crank.

I tell you what, if I were the so-called leader of the free world, being awakened all night with bulletins wouldn't bother me in the least. Much better than being kept awake with howling winds, driving rains, and fears for your loved ones.

What a big f*ckin' whiney-ass spoiled brat he is.

I'll be that's what it is- we know he's petty and carries a grudge.

The last president walked the halls at night, looking for someone's brain to pick over policy issues. *sigh*

24. Does anyone really believe staff were waking him up through the night
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 09:05 PM by Garbo 2004
to give him updates? Please. When DC had a scare due to a plane crossing in the no fly zone and gov't offices were being evacuated (I think Laura also) NO ONE TOLD HIM ABOUT IT while he was riding his bike in Maryland. They didn't interrupt a bleeping bike ride to tell him there was fear of a potential plane attack on D.C.

They expect us to believe they kept waking him up all night long with bulletins about Rita? "Sir, it's still windy and raining." Riiight. Administration propagandists tell this to Newsweek and Newsweek reports it as if it were remotely believable that he'd have them do that, ever.

29. It's been beyond surreal
watching an entire nation babysit its Commander and Chief these past 5 years. I've never seen or heard of an American president get such solicitous treatment. And it's causing him to regress -- into a sullen 2 year old! If one day Condi isn't around to clean up when he goes boom-boom in his diapie, we're gonna wake up to Rumsfeld apologizing for the "unfortunate error" of nuking France off the map.
