CNN reports "smaller than expected" crowd to support the war ;)
My apologies if already posted. Couldn't find it in a search.

This will make you scratch your head. What is CNN/AP doing here? Reporting the truth? But then again, they also say the big rally was "tens of thousands." I guess they're still downplaying the big rally but at least they're telling it like it is with the non-existent anti-anti-war counter-rally. Nonetheless, it was nice to see the headline on the CNN home page.

---------

Defenders of Iraq war counter-rally
Smaller-than-expected gathering follows anti-war protest

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Support for U.S. troops fighting abroad mixed with anger toward anti-war demonstrators at home as hundreds of people, far fewer than organizers had expected, rallied Sunday on the National Mall just a day after tens of thousands protested against the war in Iraq.

1. Why not just tell the truth? We outnumbered them 1000 to 1.

6. We did that in the voting booth too

We had the votes in 2000 and 2004 and I will never believe otherwise.

That much passion, from our side, went into both elections. The 2004 even more than 2000.

We have got to get FAIR elections with paper ballots or we can March forever and never win at the ballot box.

14. That's a major point we need to consider.
We got sold the election results because of the so-called"values" voter; the ones who like to be lied to on causus belli, busted treasuries, no-bid contracts, incompetence on 9/11. So, less than 1 year since the election, there should have been a theoretical 600,000 people turning out for the pro-Bush rally today to reflect their majority. They were only 599,500 short of that number. Where'd they go? Hmmmmm. Personally, I think the biggest con of all time was perpetrated on the American voter last November.

Next election, maybe we should vote by outdoor rally.....

16. For being greedy for money they sure can't count

You are so right!

They know how to count their money and steal from us with Halliburton, but when it comes to votes they are REALLY stealing!

I am just in shock that in 2005 they are not able to give an estimate, within 100 +/- of the size of a crowd.

They knew the numbers and they are trying to tell us that we can't even see the photographs with our OWN eyes!

If that's the way they care about telling us the truth, no wonder they don't care about DIEBOLD.

3. 750,000 is technically "tens of thousands"
75 "tens of thousands"
What the true point of lowballing it is, I have no idea.

4. I think it is pretty standard to say hundreds of thousands in that case
technically, 750,000 is also "dozens" of people.

9. Was is 201 people?
 Just catching up a little as the week begins...

It's funny how shameful our media is. "Hundreds" can mean anything from 200 to 999. So they're allowing the viewer to put his/her idea (and biases) into what constitutes "hundreds".

Now that's journalism!...NOT!

fought for real political reasons, i.e. Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII. However, I would guess that many of the smaller actions in our days have not been for any real kind of good cause. We know that we were lied to in both Vietnam and Irag. How many of the little actions around the world where for reasons other than stated? We owe it to the troops to make sure they are never again sent to war for some a-holes personal economic gain.

Wrong post was trying to answer the question about Freedom isn't Free.

13. Criticize Bush, Attack Cindy
So typical of those folks.

I had a friend who voted for Bush & his war. When I criticized Bush, her and her husband came after me in a vicious way.
We're no longer friends, but this is how they deal with those of us who don't like illegal wars.
