An observation on the Freeper rally today
1. in a nation of well over 200 million, the idiotic statement that any one person who doesn't like *any* war and states it somehow causes any enemy to become wildly confident and invigorated is simply odd. I guess, unless, you figure your enemy in any war is profoundly delusional: "Oh my friends good news! Bob Smith of Ohio dislikes his country's military policy and has said so on his local news! victory is surely at hand!"

2. We should fight for "liberty" and "freedom" which no longer includes the freedom to dissent or the liberty to speak our minds. Curious sort of "liberty" that...

3. That was not only a sparse crowd for a Sunday with good weather but *damn* it was the *whitest* crowd I've seen anywhere in quite a while. Pasty-faced bunch of bastards weren't they?

3. Lots of Bermuda shorts, I imagine...
Topsiders and cute little golf socks. Probably a dress code.

5. more the socks and sandals crowd
than the topsiders with the G&T in hand---the topsiders crew barely tolerates these animals except as a voting block.

4. Freepers have become so marginal, they are now officially "fweepies"
They're childish, and they're shrinking :)

11. Both of you gave me a good laugh.
Fweepies they are then. They can be fweenies during Halloween, if they play nice. Fwurkeys for Thanksgiving.

7. Lovely freeper quote from the Washington Times
"I fought for your right to hate your country"

Uh, moran, we don't hate our country. We just hate the f*cksticks who are running it and their dastardly policies.

8. Well, I don't *hate* it but since I too "fought for it"
I guess I can feel any damn way I want to can't I ---by that loony logic.

Frankly, whether *anyone* served one day or not, they have the right at birth to feel any damn way they want and say any damn thing they want. Anything less would not be worth serving for in my opinion.

13. What makes me laugh (and want to cry at the same time)
is their assumption that only they have served (or will serve) in the military. They are such ignorant bastards. :eyes:

9. Even Cspan Could Not Hide how small it really was
I noticed they tried hard not to pan to the crowd, but sometimes it could not be helped and it looked like there was a few hundred people there tops. Thats when I started to laugh :)

19. They hoped for 20,000 and got 400
Do you think they'll get the message? The majority of U.S. citizens woke up and they haven't. They are the shrinking minority.

10. "Kristinn" is a *man*??????
Is that correct? I didn't see him/her on any of the video clips but the male pronound keeps being used. What an odd choice for a boy's name. No wonder the maniac is, well, a maniac!

it doesn't get any more white and less diverse than a freeper rally. You can take that to the bank everytime.

18. Freepers and people of color?
I think they have probably a point .05 minority rate. Whites only at Crawford, whites only at DC. They do have one black guy who appears to be their token. I wonder if he's the black guy who always sits behind W on his scripted appearances.

21. They just had a Navajo Code Talker on the stage
Poor guy, he didnt know, they get invited to speak all the time all over the country. The Freepers just used him. I am Navajo, our president has spoken out aginst the war as has our council and people. We voted for Kerry at about 95%

23. it's because I RESPECT and SUPPORT the troops
it's worth a re-telling...

a couple of months or so ago I wrangled with a kook-aid drinker about supporting troops and Iraq

his premise stated I didn't support/respect troops because I felt invading Iraq was wrong

me: It's because I respect and support the troops that I'm against the stupid invasion. There was no good reason to invade in the first place - and I don't feel throwing bodies at a stupid war shows respect or support. Wasting lives is not showing respect or support - it's shows a high disregard for the VALUE of our troops.
