Local news(Kansas City) covered the prowar rally last night
They showed the pitiful few and the desecrated flag backdrop and announced it was attended by 400 people. Then the scene shifted and there were people everywhere and the news reader said yesterday there was an anti war rally attended by 100,000 people.

I was screaming higher, higher, at the idiot box, I've heard anywhere from 250,000 to 600,000. It was a good contrast though, even if they did low ball the numbers and his voice went low on the 100,000 almost as if he knew he was telling a lie.

For everyone who went, thank you and thanks for the wonderful photos, I was showing my brother the photos posted on DU last night, of the pro peace marchers and rally, then showed him the rah rah support the resident rally, we both fell out laughing.

1. So the 400-person rally gets as much attention as the 100,000+ rally

Unbelievable.

Here in Japan, it is difficult to find articles on the Internet about the anti-war rally, but the ones I have found (for example, San-in Chuo Shimpo) estimate attendance at 150,000.

Interesting that this article also estimates the attendance at the London rally to be 10,000, while the following Japanese-language account, from China Radio International, claims it was only about 1000

2. K.C. news
On Friday or Saturday, local news here said it was "clear" that the attendance at the anti-war rally was "far short" of the 100,000 they anticipated.

3. Did they also say that the attendance of 400 freepers
at the pro-death rally was "greater than expected"?

4. Tell them they lie
I was there. It wasn't any "far short of 100,000"-it was more like 500,000 or more.
