4. "blind" defense?
This guy needs to go down!

A blind trust is no longer blind if you know what is in it.

5. He's trying SO HARD to sound innocent.
It ain't working. Sold the stock to "eliminate the appearance of a conflict of interest." Says he did nothing wrong. Anyone who believes that, stand on your head.

That was supposed to be a blind trust, meaning he wasn't supposed to know what was in the trust!!

His 'family' business paid the LARGEST FINE for Medicare Fraud - Ever. Yes, this very man just led our Senate to vote on a humongous Medicare bill. A bill that they LIED about the true costs to get it passed. A bill that his 'family' business will greatly profit from.

~snip~ The three parts give a broad view of Columbia/HCA's unsavoury conduct. Many of their unethical and antisocial practices were legal. The fraud investigations unearthed additional material. The finally paid US $1.7 billion but no one went to prison. ~snip~

6. He's saying the timing of the sale was coincidental
and that he'd wanted to divest himself of the stock for a long time to avoid the appearance of impropriety. So why then did he choose to divest himself right before it decreased in value?

BTW, welcome to DU HillDem!

9. But the ethics committee cleared him of that last year
and said his trust wasnt impropriety. So why would he need to sell it?

15. And further -- why did his family need to divest at this time too?
Did they have a need to "avoid the appearance of impropriety" too?

Let's see ... your family starts this business and it does swell ... everyone is making money ... you defend holding these stocks FOR YEARS against "impropriety" claims ... you sell your stock ... your family sells their stocks ... the stock begins to tank ... but it was all a coincidence, right?

Hey Frist ... I was born at night ... but not LAST night.

It's time we "divest" ourselves from you before we get splashed with claims of "the appearance that we believe you".

Buh-bye. :hi:

12. Bill Frist
Bill Frist is a dirty insider trader. He is equally as guilty as Martha Stewart and needs to go through the same legal process as Martha.
