Who on DU has the source to this Russert comment:
It may be a Time interview. Russert had just been promoted and all of a sudden he was rah-rah Republicans. He claimed that Republicans were more efficient. When pressed to why he suddenly switched perspectives, he admitted that his paycheck was signed by a Republican. I think he even said, "Integrity is for poor people."

3. "Integrity is for paupers!"
I can't believe he said that. What a moron. If we had video, the man's career would be toast.

"The executive agreed. “But are you concerned about losing yourself? You know, selling out?”

Russert pounded the table. “Integrity is for paupers!”"

THanks!

2. He said, "Integrity is for paupers"
A fuller quote: "I believe in everything I ever did. But I also know that I never would have become moderator on Meet The Press if my employers were uncomfortable with me. And, given the amount of money at stake, millions of dollars, I don’t blame them. This is business. ... Integrity is for paupers!"

4. "This is a business..."
The man definitely drank the kool-aid in the early 90s.

8. I am truly shocked! Shocked, do you hear?
Only, I'm not kidding, I really am shocked. "Integrity is for paupers." Wow. What would Big Russ say about that? What a sham of a man. I am serious when I say I will listen to him with different ears and I will see him with different eyes. It's also reminiscent of the Leona Helmsley "taxes are for the little people" comment. Tim didn't just slide gently off the moral precipice, he did a cannonball. Hack. Shill. Tout.
