CNN: Oil expert said real convservation would be more devastating
to the oil companies than the hurricanes. Nice to know we get to bleed for them too. Dead solders. Dead civilians. But the oil profits continue to be extreme. I guess $5-10 a gallon is the price we get to pay for our civilization.

1. What "expert?"
And "devastating" to whom? Just the oil company CEOs?

So this "expert" thinks conservation is a "bad" idea, eh?

3. Cheap gasoline was a farce
We're just now realizing what pretty much every other western nation has had to deal with.

4. Actually, the point was higher gas $$ would drive us to find other energy.
Conservation efforts are being promulgated by the oil companies, not out of alturistic ideals, but to prevent the price of oil from pushing consumers to alternative energy sources.

I say fuck gas conservation. I want gas prices to go past $5 gallon. This way we WILL BE FORCED to do what we should have done decades ago...move to non-hydrocarbon and renewable energy sources.
