If your local paper printed this photo of Roberts
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 08:33 PM by LittleClarkie
what would you think was their political bent: more liberal or more conservative.

I know what MY reaction was. What's yours? (on edit: I mean in answer to the question: liberal paper vs conservative paper, not whether or not his face makes you puke)

9. Liberal, actually
When I saw this photo all blown up on the front page, on my birthday actually so I remember the date, I thought "m'god, you guys really ARE liberal." What a horrendous closeup!

16. Actually, I see the resemblance as well.
He looks kind of like Hanks playing Forrest Gump.

6. I'm as creeped-out as I've ever felt before in my life.
I saw another one today which was much smaller but no less alarming, in which his arms were crossed and he was struggling to restrain his pure creepy elation. The first thing I saw in my mind's eye was that famous film clip of A. Hitler starting to dance a jig outdoors of his "wolf's lair" command post during the invasion of (probably) France. Same creepy smile and struggle to contain his glee.

8. It's that same "I have mashed potatoes in my underwear" smile
he usually has, only close up. He has trouble looking normal for some reason, when he smiles. He can't manage a genuine smile to save his life. He looks moments away from going cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

17. He has those
fundamentalist fanatical eyes, as I like to call them. Fanatical, but with an extra touch of ?? craziness ??. He looks, at times, like he is going to burst out with uncontrolled hysterical laughter.

18. Exactly
And what is WITH that tight-lipped smile. You could almost picture him starting to hum and rock back and forth with a look like that on his face. That's the look a friend of mine used to use, come to think of it, as she'd threaten to go and sit at the steps of the psych hospital, smiling, rocking, and humming, hoping they'd let her in so she could get a vacation.
