How can you say that we have a right to peaceably assemble, when we have to apply for permission to someone who can decline our permit.

I understand the need for police or traffic cops to be made aware if you're going to have a march, but I don't think it should be an application. It should be a notice, and nobody can deny you.

If you can be denied something then it's not a right, it's a priviledge. If the ability to peaceably assemble isn't a right, then we dont' live ina truly free society.

The laws on the books could be interpreted, and have been, that any group more than two people can be dispersed by the police on a whim. Does that sound like freedom or Stalin era Russia.

Actually, no, Champlain. But I am tired of those who continually participate in smearing American citizens who dissent against the mass murder "George" and his merry band of murderers are committing in our name.
