They had me going for a while. I actually believed that BushCo would finally let someone go for screwing up. My faith in them is restored!
But seriously, as BushCo sees it, Brown really did do a heck of a job of turning FEMA into a cash cow for Repug connected contractors. Brown knows where the the bodies are buried. They need to keep him in the fold.

...in fact daring us. They don't think we have it in us to do much more than the occasional weekend gathering of a quarter million or so people. They know MSM will always ignore it. They're not worried.

This is such a FUCK YOU from Bushco to the whole nation. You don't pull shit like this unless you believe you're absolutely unassailable. They clearly do believe it. The question is: are they right?

GWB: Ok, Brownie. You gotta take the fall on this one.
Brownie: Well, why should I - you owe me...
GWB: Don't worry Brownie, I've got a better plan for ya and it pays. Oh yeah, pays big-time; way better hours & you can cash it in on the sly.
Brownie: Will I have to use the back-door like Jeffy?
NOTE: Of course I'm being purely hypothetical :)

Wuuuuuuh?
Brown told congressional investigators Monday that he is being paid as a consultant to help FEMA assess what went wrong in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, according to a senior official familiar with the meeting. On Saturday, Jane wrote:
And now I will leave you to guess where this bit of gossip came from, because I promised not to tell. But one of the above-mentioned folks called me this afternoon to say that according to sources within the Enquirer itself, the source for Bush's drinking story is -- an incredibly pissed-off, recently scapegoated head of a federal agency who thinks that BushCo. done him wrong.
