Boys rip off girls' clothes, take picture on school bus.
Four Central Florida middle school students were arrested Monday for allegedly ripping off the clothes off classmates and then snapping photos with their cell phones, according to a Local 6 News report.

Investigators said the boys, ages 12, 13 and 14 years old, attacked the girls Friday at Tavares Middle School in Lake County, Fla., in the back of a school bus. The boys then allegedly groped the girls and took pictures of them.

Good grief, how does someone get to the point that he thinks this is acceptable?

30. Honestly, I don't think a group of pre-pubescent kids warrants a cop.
If it got REALLY out of hand, like with this particular bus, I'd do it. But a few adults with the power to punish would work just fine.

39. My question is
why doesn't the bus driver turn the kids in to the principle and tells them what goes on? I remember when I was in high school when I was in, I think, tenth grade we got security cameras on the bus that were silent and would video tape the whole day and you can watch it and everything. The bus driver is the authority figure while you're on the bus. Whenever I have kids and they go to school I expect the driver to watch over my children and make sure they are safe in all areas such as this. Those students should be suspended for the year in my opinion for sexual assault.

Why should violent sex offenders be allowed anywhere near our children? These boys can get their GEDs in lockup as far as I'm concerned.

38. The bus drivers refuse to do anything
They've put cameras on the buses and there are lot's of videos of kids getting beaten and worse. However, the police say it's not their jurisdiction and the School Boards are turning a blind eye. This needs to come out in the press because it is happening everyday and it seems there is little the parents can do about it.

18. That's because they overload the buses.
There are sometimes three people sitting in one seat. Someone's butt is usually hanging in the aisle. They have fewer stops each year, which makes kids walk further to get the bus, until it becomes obvious that it's easier to find private transportation. That's their real goal. To make it impossible for you, so that you'll seek other solutions.

Anyway, crowded buses generally make it easier to have unruly situations.

No one has molested anyone, yet! This goes beyond crowded conditions. This is about the lack of character and control in those boys. The bus driver is a piece of work, too, obviously.

19. uhm, no.
sorry, 'girls gone wild' may be a piece of crap, but i don't think you can blame forcible disrobing of sober schoolgirls on a video of voluntary flashing of drunk college women.

this makes about as much sense as blaming a real-live rape on a movie where people kiss.

42. In reply to all of the above.
GGW is not just "a movie showing adults."

It's "reality TV" of the "man on the street" variety and therein lies the critical difference. Obviously not suitable for children -- but as a whole, we don't do a thorough job in keeping that material away from kids. Hell, we can't even keep a (very fun, I must say) video game where you can beat a cop to death with a double-ended dildo out of their eager hands.

GGW and its ilk conveys the message that sexual behavior in public places and "getting girls to flash" is "cool." The latter could be an influence in this story. We won't know unless one of the kids talks. Though even in that case, I'd be forced wonder if the testimony was coerced. It's just a hypothesis. Let it live or die by the evidence, but do not deny it is a plausible one.

Not that I support censorship, just that I mourn a culture where such a phenominon would be so popular, and where parents in some cases can't and in some cases just plain don't keep a basic leash on what their childrens minds are fed.

45. Whatever I may think of "Girls Gone Wild"...
(and frankly, I've never seen it except for the advertisements on cable), I do not think these little monsters can claim that "GGW made me do it." I'm not a fan of the "reality flashing" genre, but it is not an excuse for sexual assault on a school bus.

48. Nor is it a defense.

GGW made me do it, GTA3 made me do it, none of it holds as a defense. Kinds are impressionable, but (one would hope) the ground rules for acceptable behavior are clear.

This from a nutjob I used to know. She told me this after some boys in high school sodomized another boy with objects from a locker room in a haizing incident.

The blame starts at the parents, IMO.

Yes, the blame begins with the parents.
But these buys were plenty old enough to understand the consequences of their actions. I will have no sympathy for them when (if) they spend the next several years locked away to think about how badly they screwed up. Maybe that will set enough of an example that the next little hoodlums will think again before committing sexual assault.

The story talked about surveillance cameras. I guess the bus driver abdicated responsibility to the cameras.

I'm kind of surprised the article shows the mug shots of the four boys considering they're 12-14 years old. Not that I don't think they deserve to have their faces shown, but they wouldn't normally do that here in Texas. Does Florida routinely publish the faces of minors accused of crimes?

44. Say, didn't Janet Jackson simulate this act at an NFL football game?
Performing together in a routine that had included a number of bump-and-grind moves, Timberlake reached across Jackson, flicking off the molded right cup of the bustier, leaving her breast bare except for a starburst-shaped decoration held in place by a nipple piercing.

Timberlake issued his own apology. "I am sorry if anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance at the Super Bowl," he said. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

folks. Look at how people teach their children nowadays. Look at what they watch on television. Notice how folks tell each other to follow their "feelings", instead of following a path that is right and true. Your culture is sick, and it is doomed.

Also, no punishment for the molesters, just a ruined reputation for the molested. I'm tempted to send this article to each of them, as well as the parents who are still living.

Those poor girls. I hope they receive the counseling I'm CERTAIN they will need.
