3. It's politics as usual |
|
Rickie is positioning himself for a 2008 run (which he doesn't stand a chance in hell of getting the nomination) and any Repug who plans to run needs to distance themselves as far away from this train wreck administration as possible.

8. Well, that butt-hole has sure irritated the masses. |
|
Why not the White House? We need to do everything in our power to help this disagreement escalate into a fierce battle.

13. Santorum dared to mention that Dubya may be a drag on his run |
|
Of course, he is trying to distance himself from a White House that is increasingly unpopular in the state he claims to represent (Pennsylvania), but is apparently not good enough for his family to actually reside in. (We in PA call Santorum the Senator from Virginia).
About a week ago, Santorum was asked if Bush may be a reason for his 15% point deficit in the current polls. He said "That may be." Apopstasy! Dubya is the Holy Child of the GOP, and could never hurt anyone in polls! He is beloved by all Pennsylvanians! Beloved, I say! Any suggestion otherwise by the Senator from Virginia may harm the grand illusion that Dubya holds some sort of political magic.
Then again, at a very pragmatic level, this could very well, as another poster suggests, be a coordinated distancing. Mayhaps the political gurus in the West Wing recognize that Pennsylvania is well and truly lost (Dubya, of course, lost Pennsylvania TWICE!), and the only thing that may save Santorum's tenuous seat and overall career is to make him look like some outsider maverick, rather than among the most strident Dubya ass-kissers, which he certainly is. Will Pennsylvanians forget Santorum's asinine shilling for Dubya's FAILED Social Security heist? I don't think so. Santorum was Dubya's frontman on that catastrophe; I actually went to one of these forums, and they were....just....awful. By the end of them, even the obvious GOPers were shaking their heads at the obvious disjunction between the "problem" (as stated) and the supposed "solution" - a rift that any schoolchild could understand. It's no surprise that the lousy PowerPoint and atrocious logic actually caused the proposal to decrease significantly in popularity, and that sinking ball and chain is firmly attached to Man-on-Dog's simpleton ankle.
Maybe, after he is ushered out of office, the Senator from Virginia can go and run in the state of Virginia. We certainly don't want him.

14. this is cuz Santorum is in SERIOUS TROUBLE here in Pennsyl. |
|
He very may well loose the election in 2006 (I GOD....how I hope) so I think he's trying to distance himself from Bu$hCo. Watch him start to disagree with how the war in Iraq is going anyday now. Mark my worlds. Santorum is scum

Santorum has been a vitriolic critic of President Bush's now all-but-defeated plan to privatize Social Security. Now, it seems, White House allies are pushing back."
He went on a freaking tour of the entire state trying to push that crap down people's throats. He is such a tool.
