rather then get another personality like Lanphers that is constantly playing the reasoned "str8" guy to Franken they would get more a true progressive to counter his "centrist" view. That would be great radio.

4. I agree. He works much better when he's with Joe Conason, for instance. |
|
Al Franken is already a moderate- frustratingly so at times. He really doesn't need someone reeling him in further, in my humble opinion.

9. KPTK making LOTS of mistakes |
|
I agree, Al at 3 is too slow...Stephanie Miller has nothing to offer except her over-inflated opinion of herself. AND for God's sake...Nascar, Football, and other BS sports programming interfering.
KPTK has to be the worst AAR affiliate. Just a couple hundred miles away, Portland's AAR station is NUMBER 5 overall in the entire market. Seattle could do that well, or better, with better management.
Thanks for the chance to rant!!!

I'll feel stupid as soon as I rememeber her name!
I'd rather hear those three than several of the hosts they have now--Al and Jerry being two of them.

13. Perhaps the shake-up will add some new spark to the show. |
|
Let's be optimistic and hope that the show will be even better after she is replaced (assuming he gets a new side-kick).

Al Franken left to his own devices will think he's even funnier than he thinks he is now.

I really would like his show to improve over time - I personally think it's been kind of plodding along lately.

Oh, crap; I like her, too. (I watch it on Sundance Channel.) She is funny, they work well together, and she says something about Franken's occasional sexism. I wish she wasn't leaving, because they are so great to listen to, but if she does, I wish her well--although where, in the whole Republican corporate media she thinks she is going to get publicity for a (possible) book, I don't know--and I hope they replace her with another woman; a liberal/feminist. They are a team, not adversaries, but Franken still needs to be moved left on occasion.
