U.S.: Al-Zarqawi No. 2 killed in Baghdad
Military says top aide to Jordanian-born terrorist shot dead on Sunday

Updated: 3:57 a.m. ET Sept. 27, 2005
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The second-in-command of Al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Azzam, was shot and killed by U.S.-led forces in Baghdad on Sunday, the U.S. military confirmed on Tuesday.

Azzam, a financier and religious aide to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, was shot and killed while hiding out in a high-rise apartment building in the capital, the military said.

“We had a tip from an Iraqi citizen that led us to him,” said Lt. Col. Steve Boylan, a spokesman for the U.S. military in Iraq. “It was a joint U.S.-Iraqi operation. We’ve been tracking him for a while.”

Okay, so how many times does this make for killing "Al-Zarqai's #2"? I think it's like the fifth or sixth time now!

6. See?
Just like Dick Cheney predicted. The flowers and candy get broke out today. The war's over. I hope President Bush lands on another domestic ship, wearing his uniform, so the celebrations can begin.

7. Al-Zarqawi's number 2... Lets see
If Al-Zarqawi is bin Laden's Number 2, would that make this guy the Al Qeada number 3?

How many times have we reportedly captured or killed the "number 3 guy" in Al Qeada?

How long will people keep buying into this shit?

9. Did you ever notice....
that every time Bushitlers poll numbers are in the toilet, that they conveniently kill a "top Al Qaida" operative? Do people really fall for that shit? Besides that, Al Qaida in Iraq is the SMALLEST of the insurgent groups according to experts. They have the least amount of members in comparison to other known terrorist groups in Iraq. Yet, that is the only name that ever comes up: Al Qaida. I think the insurgents in Iraq are multiplying like cockroaches anyway. We will never stop them because the U.S. foreign policy creates more every minute.

For you'll surely be killed within a week!

15. if zarqawi is truLy aL-queda then...
he's not even THE #1 for aL-queda in iraq; instead he's one of say 10, or 20, or 100 #1's for AQinI. he just happens to be the visibLe figurehead for AQ (Like bin Laden).

simiLarLy, there is no ONE number 2, Like say a vice-president. there are 50, or 100, or 500 #2's for AQinI.

and so on down the Line for AQ.

unLike most countries or organizations, AQ is a 'circuLar structure' as opposed to the more common, 'pyramid structure' - this arrangement achieves severaL aims:

1. the inner core (#1's) is near impossibLe to penetrate.
2. if any one member of each circLe (say bin Laden, who is indeed a number 1; or kaLif muhammed was a member of the #3 circLe) is taken out, the organization wiLL continue to function as usuaL.

so, if the #2 circLe of 'aL queda in iraq' contains 100 members, they can conceivabLy, "kiLL the #2 guy 100 times" according to press reLeases.... then again, #2 guys wiLL be repLaced eventuaLLy with guys from the #3 circLe, so we can kiLL the #2 guy forever. weee!!

23. normaLLy, that's my forte'
but not this time. i'm dead serious.

it's actuaLLy fascinating reading on the AQ structure; yet, it's incompLete reading because very LittLe is known about the inner-workings of it aside from generaLities.

22. Our people think only in pyramids so
your observation is quite valuable. This is one of many gut intuitions that merely confirm the US is not in a position to fight this kind of enemy. Sure, some soldiers or ops might be quite understanding and good, but they will always be foiled by the dominating mindset of our thoroughly group think Bushbot Rove Command. Their people on the other hand are not constrained and empower each other in a loose knit structure that fits the underground need very well.

This would be an interesting catalog of strategic blunders and false assessments were it not so old and so obviously meant only for domestic political consumption. In fact why bother doing anything except lie and trumpet the propaganda? Just say we killed a hundred mad dog top gun terrorists and are close to crushing the insurgency- and save the bullets for when we need them. It worked wonderfully in Vietnam to firm up the resolve of the liars.

25. very true
'win the war on terror' is such a LaughabLe Line - because they refuse to change their way of thinking. they have their mind made, and they're not changing it or eLse they'd show weakness.

serisousLy though, one reaLLy needs to understand their opponent/enemy to defeat them. if we continue to deny this, we'LL Lose again.
