5. I asked this question last week |
|
But I guess I'll ask it again here. Is it possible that dead bodies are being pumped out with the water?

7. I think they have a filter that tries to keep large debree from going out. |
|
The same filter the dog was holding on to.

In the first days, I heard concerns that corpses might clog or otherwise jam the pumps, so it must be at least possible.
Given the volume of water involved, I'd be amazed if a few didn't get drawn in, almost regardless of any precautions that might be taken.

8. Ok, first of all I feel dirty for going to that site, then |
|
what an ass for not getting down there and trying to help. Granted, I couldn't see how far down, but seriously...Anderson Cooper is in the water helping to do whatever he can and this guy doesn't even seem that moved that the poor dog is struggling to stay alive.
All Fox News people and the ones who watch them are asses (personal opinion, not actual fact, but I could probably make the argument if I had to).

11. To be honest with you.. |

I detest fox news as well, I only got this link off nola.com and i think this video shows what an ass fox news reporters really are. If I was there I would have dropped the mike and jumped the fence to get the dog out.

13. the last I saw the dog did NOT get sucked through the pumps |
|
he appeared to be pinned up against the grates designed to prevent large items from ending up in the pump. He was leaning against the filter with his head above water and seemed to be ok...they were trying to get a means of rescuing the pooch...

Is it possible/advisable to save a drowning dog? Throughout my life I've heard recommendations that it's risky for someone without lifeguard training to try to save a drowning (and therefore panicking) person; does a dog become similarly dangerous, even inadvertantly?
I can't view the video on my current connection, but the mere thought of it is awful.
