I actually read this line today in an article in the Washington Post about infighting between congressional republicans. That was in reaction to an earlier statement by a fellow republican lawmaker that "This leadership group is so out of touch, it's unbelievable."

I really hate to witness this kind of friction in our gummint. :)

1. We should encourage their civil disagreements...
so they can destroy themselves quicker.

4. There's going to be some major political realignments coming up.
Fiscal conservatives have *no* home in the modern Republican Party. It's basically become the Christian Right Party, or the War Corporatist Party.

I'm hoping the Christian Right becomes irrelevant as a voting block once again. That one thing will redefine the "middle" in this country.

5. It should be pretty obvious to red American voters
that GOP leadership no longer adheres to conservative principles, choosing instead to Untax (the rich) and Spend. BushCorps is bankrupting the country faster than Bill Frist can speed dial his broker.

6. "Conservatives" are the new centrists? What happens when
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 01:13 PM by Dhalgren
the radical right pushes the conservatives into the middle? So with the DINO democrats also hard in the middle, what's the new political split? Radical right - 10%; Conservative middle - 50%; progressive left - 40%? 15/55/30?
