I understand Chris Matthews's staff nicknamed him Tweety because of his yellow-dyed hair; and Bush himself christened Karl Rove "Turd Blossom" (and is himself the prime example of Rove's ability to make a turd blossom).

calling someone a Republican or Conservative? They have made their own names offensive enough for my taste. Adding bathroom humor to a name doesn't give it more impact, to me it just weakens it. Then again, even as a kid I never liked bathroom humor. Just me, I guess.

Not just because I have no idea what some posts refer to, but my father taught me in elementary school that calling other kids names was bad manners. His take was it said more about me than it said about them. It's just my horrible blue-collar upbringing.

I use * because of the times I've been insulted for writing out 'Bush', and am an equal-opportunity abbreviator for 'dem' and 'repub'.
