Brownie has overseen 150 Disasters in 2 years???
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 04:29 PM by Quixote1818

"I've overseen over 150 presidentially declared disasters. I know what I'm doing, and I think I do a pretty darn good job of it," Brownie

What disasters were these??? Thats a disaster every five days? Is he talking about every time Bush has fallen off his Bike or choked on a pretzel?

25. Also, If it crosses a state line, it is 2 disasters.
If a blizzard comes in a snows in 10 states, that is 10 disasters, because each one requiers a state by state dec page

Declare a disaster area, buy a new car, a garage to put it in, a house to go with the garage, and a yacht to relieve the emotional stress.

Next disaster.

31. Thanks for that link! Total for the most recent two-calendar year period is 124,
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 06:09 PM by AirAmFan
according to a page two levels down, at http://www.fema.gov/library/dis_graph.shtm :

"2003 56
2004 68"

So Brownie's exaggeration is at most 17 percent, using official counts of presidential major disaster declarations.

This high count shows how disaster declarations evidently have been politicized since Jeb Bush became the pResident's brother. Annual counts on this page are listed back to 1983 (FEMA came into existence in 1979).

During previous administrations, the annual count went down as well as up. Here's one area where Dubya has given us continuous dramatic growth! Disaster declarations evidently provide a deep-pocketed political slush fund for a "Southern Strategy".

21. If it's not 150, it's close.
But it doesn't mean what people think it means.

Here are the lists:

22. Well, He's One....
I may be all wet, but my take on this Brown thing is that Bushco suddenly realized they really were in deep doodoo and had better start working their way out of this mire they are in. They put Brown back on the payroll to be their potshot target, and had him spend some time with Rove, weaving a story that they thought the public would buy to get GW out of trouble on Katrina.

It appears to me that Rove has lost his touch. Everywhere I went today, I heard "Brown...Brown...Brown" and not in very kind tones, I might add. People are hot and they are demanding answers from Bushco regarding Brown/FEMA, Homeland, Haliburton, KBR, et al. Where's this money going...whose pockets?

So many people out of work and they are hiring directors that don't have a clue. Nope! The people are sick of it and they aren't gonna take it any more. That's my feel and I think it's time to get the ball rolling on cleaning up the place.

Anyone with half a brain can figure out that this whole thing was orchestrated by Rove to deflect blame. It's the Blame Game part two!

You can bet Chimpy and Brownie on a bender would reap MANY disasters...I think that's what he was talking about.
