OK people time to PUT your KEYBOARD to work

Protect the Endangered Species Act!

Legislation to significantly change the way science is used to protect endangered species has passed out of committee and is expected to be voted on by the entire House THURSDAY. The bill would cripple federal efforts to protect and preserve wildlife and their habitats. Please protect the Endangered Species Act today by sending a letter to your representative urging a NO vote on H.R. 3824.

Here is a link to send a E Letter to your Rep asking for a "NO" vote

Don't buy into "This will help the enviroment if passed."

It hurts all of us and gives way to much freedom to the gov. to take away prvt. property.

3. HR 3824
It appears that this bill will give more power and responsibility to local and state governments, but also arbitrarily re-prioritizes the list of endangered and threatened species. It also diminishes (or can diminish) the weight that scientific reports produced carry regarding these areas.

The unknown here is: Can a local, city, county, or state government agency go in an develop (or sell for development) areas which are known to be fragile and have little or no weight given to public opinion, i.e., Walmart Eminent Domain cases?

Can a big company go in and "develop" areas where there is oil > and is drilling a development?

This amendment, which amounts to a bid edit job on the ESA of 1973 is a real chore to read through.

As with so many bills, loopholes are not closed and other items not very well defined.

I'm asking my Congressman to vote "no" on this bill.
