Why has gas gone up .25 overnight where I live??? |
|
Especially when last night I read an article from AAA saying gas is headed DOWN this week? Seriously -- why?

3. I don't have a poor choice of living location |
|
That's a very odd thing to say to me. I live where my job and family are. I was just asking a question, because I didn't know if anything had mysteriously happened to gas supply overnight.

9. Why has it gone up? Because it CAN. |
|
Gas companies are pretty much free to do whatever they want. They gouge the crap out of the public, and I bet not one percent of the gouging incidents are ever prosecuted. They make up all sorts of excuses to raise the gas prices, however flimsy. Just another tool in the attempt to create an American peasantry. Make us all poor, trap us in bankruptcy limbo, and make us all into corporate slave-drones.

11. We're lucky they don't use free market principles in pricing. |
|
We'd all be paying $10 a gallon.
Their current practice is to gouge us just enough that we grumble over prices - tehy'll continue to ratchet them up until we start finding ways to conserve energy. That's their biggest fear - alternative sources of energy and transportation.
With the slew of former oil execs in this admin, it's not likely we'll get any help from the government in getting lower gas prices or funding public transportation.

10. Still running $2.69 or so here in Cleveland. |

Up a couple of cents from a few days ago, but that's normal.
What's it running there?
