The movie John Kerry doesn't want you to see

http://www.cinematical.com/2005/09/26/the-movie-john-kerry-doesnt-want-you-to-see/

Rumormongers are whispering about a new documentary on John Kerry's 2004 Presidential campaign that may wreck any chance the Senator might have for running again in 2008. Highlights of Inside the Bubble, which was shot with the permission of the Kerry campaign...

...the film's press release decribes it as following "a disorganized, contentious, self-absorbed team that thought they could win by 'not making mistakes,' and keeping their candidate in the public eye without clarifying a position on anything."

sounds about right
also two clips are online showing what kind of help Kerry hired in accomplishing this strategy:

http://www.magnifyme.net/PublicVideo/PONYTIME.mov
http://rpv.blogspot.com/2005/09/promo-clip-from-john-kerry-documentary.html

re the second one, Kerry's people were charged with preventing just such things described here and they failed.

2. Oh good more ammo for Republicans
Hey I don't argue that Kerry's campaign team and even him made HUGE HUGE errors during the campaign, I truly believe ANYONE with a good knowledge of Kerry's history could've done a far better job (certainly anyone with DU like fire could've done so) but I highly doubt clips of Kerry "babbling nervously in Italian" will do much to really hurt him.

As far as the kind of help Kerry hired by the first video clip if that's considered damning they're gonna have to do ALOT better than that considering the people portrayed especially the guy in the very beginning are no different than any other sleazy businessman or lawyer you'd encounter in any downtown area of your own city.

I just think that when you see all the TRUE damning facts of what we're seeing coming out of the Bush Administration do we really give that much of a shit about Kerry being disorganized in the first campaign and allowing a few sleazy guys to perform a few tasks?

Well yea from the standpoint that we have to learn from these mistakes actually politicians who think they want to be the Democratic nominee have to learn them, but as far as this being necessary viewing for the public, I think it should just be used as a 20 minute shortie to remind Democratic Politicians that their ass is just as fair game.

6. In the clips that I saw
Kerry came off as much more likeable than what most people saw on their TV's.

8. anyone remember when GORE was on SNL -- the skit on running mates?
the way he portrayed KERRY? and make no mistake, he had creative control of the skits.

KERRY was portrayed as arrogantly entitled. a kind of simple-mindedness about not needing to COMPETE for the job because it was "rightly" his.

now, i like kerry alright.

but his campaign never had urgency. there wasn't the sense that real people were suffering.

it had the quality of being all about him and la-ti-da on the election fraud.

i'm not speaking for myself here -- i wanted to love him. i wanted to feel something from campaign. it just wasn't there.

12. Sorry for you, I didn't know him from atom until the election and
I came away with an entirely different perspective. I saw him as intelligent, humble and caring and perhaps a bit nervous being surrounded by so many people. I never saw entitlement at all.

20. that was gore's perspecitive back in 2000. my own observation of the
campaign squared with that.

he's a politician, and you have to imagine a sense of entitlement would be part of the psychological make-up for anyone seeking office. he would have been better than bush and he would have had a shot at it if he fought for the voters in ohio and all the rest of us, for that matter. the "official" story why he didn't fight for the voters was to preserve his image to run in 2008. that's a problem for me. we need DEMS to fight for us now. then. whenever injustice is carried out against us. i think we deserve that for all our money/time contributed to the effort.

it's my opinion: i can't support kerry in 2008.

21. I still wonder why Gore didn't work with Kerry on IranContra and BCCI.
I'll bet if Kerry had just one other dedicated senator working with him it could have made all the difference in the world.

Gore was more experienced in the Senate at the time and knew how to get camera time and headlines as he demonstarted with his song lyric crusade.

Imagine if all the attention he got for song lyrics was directed at BCCI, instead. What a difference it would have made to the world.

BTW...don't people UNDERSTAND that parody takes an aspect of a person and stretches it to the extreme to make the joke? Gore mocked himself as much as he did Kerry, Edwards and Lieberman in that sketch.

22. You seem to forget that Kerry has lawsuits pending in Ohio
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 09:11 PM by politicasista
But I guess people like vocal action (what Gore did) instead. Shame because Kerry has been one of, if not the most visible Dem since the election. Hanging on to the past will help us win in 06 and 08 for sure.

BTW: I like Gore too and Gore wouldn't appreciate people dumping on good dems who are fighting this criminal and incompetent administration.

11. what Kerry needs is a pitbull PR team working for him
He is really an excellent Senator and he would make an outstanding President. Hes just not very good at getting his message out and hes not very good at nasty politics. Thats his problem.

13. This is a nonsense film. The best parts are the parts that we get to
see and hear John Kerry. I want to know when we get to see a film about Bush's behind the scenes campaign.

HBO doc following the chimp in the campaign against Gore 2000. It shows him as the asshole that we know him to be.
