The Sand Castle Syndrome
Edited on Wed Sep-28-05 11:42 AM by Mend
Monty Roberts, the Horse Whisperer, writes about this in his new book. The very rich, narcissistic guy, who can buy and build up anything, most relishes destroying that which has been created. Ruination gets his rocks off. He likens it to some kids who find the most pleasure not in building a sand castle, but in kicking it down. I have assumed that the idiot-in-chief wants success but maybe that is the wrong perspective. Maybe he most loves the power to destroy everything...that he is not exactly incompetent but more probably satanic.

3. "Horses in My Life"
it happened to Monty. Mr Harcourt (of the publishing family and meg-rich) set up Monty's family and built a huge thoroughbred farm....and suddenly after seven years, pulled the rug out from under him. He sent Monty to his psychiatrist who explained that this was the way this guy was, make a dream, get people dependent on his good will....destroy.

2. Our Aristcrats used to like to build fake ruins
on their big country estates to add a touch of romance. They skipped the building-properly and knocking-down phases and went straight to ruin. Some are very pretty.
