BUSH SAYS IRAQI PLAN IS IN GOOD SHAPE

President Bush is sending out the message that the plan in Iraq is working. He made that announcement today after getting an update from his two top generals from Iraq. One day after the Pentagon confirmed the death of Iraq`s number two al Qaeda leader, President Bush said America is making progress training Iraqi troops.

The President talked about a clear strategy of hunting down top terror leaders, but admitted the U.S. is having to constantly change its tactics to keep up with an ever-changing enemy. Just today, al Qaeda claimed responsibility for another deadly suicide bomb attack on a military recruiting center and said, the bomber, for what is believed to be the first time ever, was a woman.

Even with 100 battalions of trained Iraqi security forces now operating throughout the country, the President says the coalition should expect increasing violence leading up to next month`s constitutional vote. The generals will meet on Capitol Hill today with lawmakers to update them on the war effort.
