Bush is at 40% and below; "illegitimate father" McCain and pro-choice Giuliani are front-runners for the 2008 GOP nod; I don't think I need to mention DeLay and Frist; and the next House Majority Leader violates the sanctity of marriage!

But seriously you are right - it will be interesting to see who rises from the ashes. Delay or Frist might be able to hold the base, Giuliani and McCain would hold them, but they would be depressed, and wouldn't work as hard or donate as much. I'd guess the next nominee will be some guy we aren't really consideering right now.
