12. Somehow, I don't think that will be part of the story
Yes, the media were strangely silent concerning this power grab at the time it was happening, and a lot of what will be coming out in the days and weeks to come will be old news to a lot of us here. Yet the media will paw over every "new" revelation as if corruption in politics was something that has now come into existence only because those fearless guardians of democracy are on the job.

Their prior blindness will be lost down the memory hole as they self-righteously cluck over the details of Tommy's reign of error.

3. We already knew that I thought...
I mean, I'm glad they are reporting it YEARS later...but it was known at the time that DeLay called the FAA...

5. Bonilla and Dreier in lock-step behind DeLay on CNN report
Bonilla was on cspan (WJ) this morning ... he's a recipient of re-districting. He represents two time zones in his "district". He impressed me as an idiot -- I live in Ohio and I certainly recognize idiocy.

6. DeLay was behind the whole mess. He's the one who put
the heat on to do it despite the fact that the rules were clearly against it. Follow the money on this one, folks! It was as heavy handed as it gets in Texas, and that's saying ALOT these days.

The redistricting was absolutely criminal. Austin is now divided into 3 districts, each several hundred miles long, to dilute the liberal vote by apportioning it to heavily red districts.

As one bushbot told me when I complained about Austin losing its voice, "You're in the minority! You don't get a voice!"

youre a minority
you dont get a voice

deep breaths

those words have been brutally brought to life throughout this countrys history
but today a beautiful hopeful development
here is to all those whose voices have been silenced
