A sappy post for those feeling nostalgic and bittersweet...
Can it be that it was all so simple then

Or has time rewritten every line

If we had the chance to do it all again

Tell me - Would we? Could we?

4. it is beyond imagining....

Vast US corruption at home and abroad, genocide of the Iraqi people, a war without end, a govt which is criminally negligence on many levels. Loss of free elections and a free press. An alcoholic, mentally ill president, incapable of honest rational thought or behavior. And citizens who do not seem to care all that much.

If someone had written this as a novel I never would have believed it.

We have lost our way as a country.

3. Remember when Bill's sex life was the only news....
Nothing else happening. We were a bored, spoiled country.
I miss Clinton. We didn't deserve him.

5. i often feel that as soon as people are content
they want to change everything (i know i do that all the time personally)

no wars...no economic crisis..why should we let contentment last?

6. yes, we certainly sabotaged ourselves as a people and country,
Americans: bored, spoiled and take a lot for granted.
Not facing reality it until it is too late.
We are the victims of our own success.
