Quote of DeLay's got me thinking...is it really the weakest and most baseless? I mean, surely there are others...what about people on death row who wind up being discovered innocent either before or after their execution? That's pretty bad.

Tom DeLay committed a felony in broad daylight and was caught.
The prosecutor has the goods and unless some ditto-head lies his way onto the jury the hammer may be headed for the tool box.
