Folks, get used to the name FRANCINE BUSBY because...
She's the next Paul Hackett.

If you don't know her already, Francine is running for Congress in Randy "Duke" Cunningham's district north of San Diego. She ran in '04 and did amazingly well in this center-right district. She's running again in what may turn out to be a very high profile race.

Please keep an eye out for her. She just could be at the vanguard of what is going to happen in '06.

1. I hope she can win
We need to pick up all the House seats we can to build a solid majority. We need better thinkers on Capitol Hill and she seems to be pretty good.

3. She's amazing ain't she?
I think she can pull it off. It's pretty damn exciting because this is the kind of district we need to win to take back the House.

if she was serious about it, the page would say "Francine Busby, DEMOCRAT for Congress, 2006".

22. not at all-
IMHO- if someone is running as a Democratic candidate, they shouldn't be afraid to say so.

ditto for the repugs.

this isn't a big election cycle for us- but when it is, we get TONS of mail from candidates, and more and more, fewer and fewer are being upfront about their party affiliation, and it's rather irksome.

8. For those who want to know a little bit about Cunningham...
Check out this
http://www.tomjoad.org/republicanfunnies.htm#duke_wade

It seems Cunningham has a very intimate relationship with a military contractor lobbyist, from whom he has received lavish amounts of money. This lobbyist bought Dukes house for about $700,000 more than it was worth.

This relationship is probably not romantic. But you can bet your bottom tax dollar that the public was getting screwed plenty by Duke Cunningham.

18. I find it hard to believe that the 'Duke-Stir' would actually run again,
given his total exposure for receiving bribes.

But then again shamelessness among the Repubs, even when their crimes are revealed, really shouldn't surprise me.

12. Time To Turn San Diego Blue!
That's my brother's district...and from what I hear, a lot of the "Country Club Repugnicans" aren't too happy having to share their party with the religious nuts and the "Texas Cowboys". The Duke-stir was a joke long before this scandal and I look forward to his indictment and conviction with tremendous delight.

I'm in a district where we were one of the few Democratic pick ups...beating an incumbent Repugnican in 2004. Just like the Cunningham, the incumbent here was full of ethical problems (including alcoholism)...and slowly, but surely, we worked hard...despite little outside help...came close in 2002 and were victorious electing a Democrat in what was once a heavily Repugnican area. Now we're hoping to hold this seat and take the open seat in the adjacent district.

I heard Jerry Springer coin the term "Culture of Corruption" that is now being cast upon the Repugnican party. From the Iraq War and high oil prices to local corruption and games, the Repugnicans haven't been this vulnerable in recent memory. Now's the time to bring forward a new generation of Democrats who will restore some sanity and respect to this country.

Good luck Francine...I'm sure my brother's check is on the way and mine will be as well.

She's a great person, and a great candidate. We really need to rally behind her!

Also, if you're around here, do WHATEVER you can to force Cunningham to resign his office before February. I think Busby's chances are made better if we can force a special election by doing so, where unless the Rethugs unite behind one candidate, she can beat them with their split votes in such an election with no primaries or runoffs.

21. Francine Busby needs to be in Congress.
She's real, she's approachable, she's tremendously knowledgeable on the issues, she cares about what is going on in our country and she's willing to do something about it.

24. If she makes it, she'll do well in Congress; she's very personable.
She's running in a very rich area in the northern coastal suburbs of San Diego, though. This Duke CUnningham thing can only help her though!
