4. My two DEMOCRATIC Senators (Durbin and Obama) voted NO!
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 10:46 AM by truebrit71
Looks like they still understand how things are supposed to work, and they know that this guy will roll-back far more than just women's rights....

The rest of the Dems that voted yes? No matter what your logic, I want you all front and G-D centre when Roe v Wade is gone, when civil rights are destroyed, and the polluters are given free-reign to run amuck...

I want ALL of you cowards to explain to me why you voted YES when that happens....

:grr:

Help me understand why any one of them HAD to vote for him.

Would GW refuse to have his picture taken with them or what?

"I believe the president should get whomever he wants." :eyes: Of course when that president was Bill Clinton nah. I'm surprised at Biden personally cause I know he said that too.

34. "When that president was Bill Clinton"....
not one Democrat voted against his nominees. Were you crying over the attack on the concept of "checks and balances" then? Or are you just being hypocritical?

18. Unless I missed one, EVERY Republican voted to confirm him?
In other words, if the pResident nominated Terry Schiavo's cremated remains in an urn, the Republicans would ALL vote to confirm her.

Anyone with great respect for the Constitution would never have voted to allow this man to the Supreme Court.

23. Well, I can say this
With the exception of Feingold, the Dems that I look to for leadership in the Senate voted no. I was pleasantly surprised by Obama and Clinton.

Do you think that they even understood that this is so much more than "just" Roe v Wade? Those who went along will live to regret their vote, IMHO.

26. Get angry and get ready for the fight of your life - this is all good
There were 2 open seats and replacing Rehnquist with Roberts isn't going to make a bit of difference on the balance of the court.

So knowing that, why start the battle out with an even swap? The real battle is going to be the replacement for O'Conner who was a moderate, pro-choice, republican.

Democrats can go back and say "We gave you Roberts no you better work with us and find us a suitable replacement for O'Conners"

Trust me, the fight will be for this seat. Had we wasted our effort on Roberts then we would have had a media nightmare and potential "Nuclear Option" crap coming to the table.

Get ready for the fight of our lives - this is the one that'll spark fireworks

27. so we are still trying to avoid the label of oppostion party??
Is that why we voted for Roberts??? Doesnt it work in our favor if the media labels us as disrupters if we are quick to point out that Bush is destroying the country??
