OK everybody
I just sent a ltte to my local newspaper http://www.gaylordheraldtimes.com
and at the end i mentioned going to DC for the rally and someone called me back, they want an interview for their next edition.
This rag is usually slanted right, so i'm somewhat cautious, but the opportunity to have my voice heard is one i cannot pass up.

Any suggestions?

1. Ask if you can read the article before publication?
I always hate having quotes taken out of context. Congratulations on the interview. Are they going to print your letter?

3. not sure
I will ask her when we meet tonight if the ltte will get published. I have been published a number of times and they've always kept my message intact.

Good idea about asking for a copy of the article first. It will hopefully be in the paper on Sat.

2. Definitely do it!
Just make some bullet points for yourself of what you want to get across regarding your experience, etc. Stay on message.

Do what the spinsters do. Make up talking points and dodge any questions that you can't use to say them.

5. Take a witness, and record it yourself.
Keep a sharp eye out for loaded questions meant to obfuscate the anti-war message and/or detract from your participation by bringing up ANSWER's "communism" or whatever.

If in doubt, just kill the reporter. :sarcasm:
