Jesus!, Jerry Springer just signed off(11.59am est) and had no idea |
|
Roberts was confirmed, his closing statement, "we'll see if Roberts was confirmed" WTF! doesn't this guy have a computer in his studio? He's the least informed host on AAR, he has no idea what the issues are, weak in debating and lately seems to returning to his TV format, lame sensationalism....Get someone else AAR!!!!

1. I cannot listen to Springer anymore -- |
|
I just feel too often as if I am going to heave.
He is, however, doing us a service -- he IS pulling people from the OTHER side toward the middle. When I could (can sometimes) listen I am amazed at the number of callers who identify themselves as Republican and then go on to thank Springer for hosting a 'civil' show and agree with one of this liberal rants.
I do wish Clear Channel would pick him up because he is really a middle-of-the-roader and I wish we could keep AAR stoked with real lefties.

|
Springer does appeal to those not already sold on the liberal or left wing side. I think he definitely belongs on AAR. Where Malloy turns some off, Springer turns them on. That's worth alot.

Compared to this Republican party, anyone not with them is a moderate. The term liberal is an odd phrase.
Personally, it's funny. Savage called Limbaugh a "moderate." If we are calling Springer a moderate, we are extreme left wing because, (news to Weiner-boy), Limbaugh is not a moderate and news to everyone here. . .Springer is NOT a moderate either.
Alan Colmes is a moderate. Thomas Friedman is a moderate. Springer isn't.

By calling Rush a moderate, they've moved the middle waaaaaaaaaaaay over to the right.
If we call our liberals moderate, we can start moving the middle back over to the left.

And good luck with that...

I listen to AAR to be informed, I expect the host's to be as informed as any here at DU...and please don't use personal attacks when responding to any post. I unfortunately responded in a like manner and regret the infraction. Criticism is welcomed but what if this is my hobby and my life?, I can't voice my concerns and outrage or my support and sympathy? Do I need consult you or others before I form an opinion? Leave the attacks for freepers and trolls..

And remember, my advice to get a life was not so much a personal attack as it was a treatment option. Try to get yourself some friends. Probably flying off the handle and ranting like a lunatic over minor radio events is not so good on that front.

6. Most of Jerry's callers seem to be fans of his teevee show |
|
You have to admit, Springer's audience seems largely GOP sheeple and "manufactured housing" dwellers who apparently think they'll find married pregnant bisexual teenage cousins or something. And that is a GOOD thing, because otherwise these poeple would be getting their news from Fox. So even if Springer is A WEEK out of date, it's still a net gain, as these sheeple are likely getting their first exposure to "our side" of the news.

30. BTW, where in FL are you from, Granny? |

I'm a Cocoa Beach kid myself. Left when I was 19. ;( While I never lived in a "manufactured home," when I moved away from home I lived in an old converted circa 1959 Air Force barracks house on the beach. It was up cinder blocks. I lived on that sand bar nearly twenty years, went through hurricanes and tornadoes, but that damned house is STILL there. Granted, no Cat 5 storms, but still...it never blew (or floated) away! They just don't build 'em like that anymore!

He was saying a topic for tomorrow's show was the NEXT Supreme Court nominee. The last thing he said was that we might possibly know as early as tomorrow who the nominee is, implying Bush would announce a name as soon as Roberts was confirmed (to distract from Delay?)
At first, I also thought he was talking about Roberts and the vote today.

16. Thom Hartmann is now on the AAR lineup but they've put him on Sundays |
|
here in the NYC market. IMHO, he should replace Springer's time slot across the country. Springer is just not a strong liberal voice, he is not accomplishing anything in terms of educating people about the issues. Thom needs to replace him, there's a man with a wealth of knowledge. I think lots of AAR listeners need to fill in the suggestion box at the AAR site and request that change. I'd also love them to syndicate Stephanie Miller or the Young Turks on the weekends or something.
