If you aren't familiar with the case, the court finally made a FINAL ruling that the DoD MUST release the most awful pictures of torture from Abu Gharib prison.

I have a feeling very bad things will happen because our government has sponsored policies of torture.

As an American, I am ashamed of what my government has done. I am also frightened of the consequences.

And then, assuming the SCOTUS upholds the verdict, you cna be sure of further foot dragging, and then only a partial release, and those will be heavilyn censored, perhaps even with claims that to release some material would be in violation of decency and anti-porn legislation, etc...

I'll be just as shocked to see this images come to the light of day as I am sure I will be shocked by the images themselves.

Besides, the mere fact of the desperate struggle against releasing these tells me all I need to know. It's not like they are lost. They are just damning.
