|
back the senate with say a 5 seat majority and whittle the house down to say 3 or seats would be a big improvement.

5. Do you understand fully what . . . |
|
has happened to us?
The Bush Criminal cabal has disenfranchised the REAL majority. . .the stench of money corruption and fear propaganda runs wide and deep.
Not in my lifetime will Democrats or any opposition succeed.
I'm wearily disgusted!

Given honest, issue-based, free, and unsuppressed elections in all districts, I think Democrats would make an overwhelming, clean sweep. But is there any real hope of honest, free, and unsuppressed elections in our nation today?
Stalin knew it: "The people who cast the votes decide nothing; the people who count the votes decide everything."

Generic Democrat is winning against generic republican if the election were held today, and that is what this election will be about. Generic local Democrat versus National, specific, despised Republican (Bush, Delay, etc).
We can also tie them to Bush's failed bid to destroy social security.
The Senate is going to be harder. I see us taking out Santorum, Chafee, and Burns, maybe the open Tennessee seat and DeWine. We may lose Dayton's seat, but our other incumbent defenses will be successful. One thing is for sure though: with those wins, we would destroy the power of the "Gang of Fourteen"; we wouldn't need them for filibusters anymore.
You forgot about governorships, but the future is bright there too. Da Governator is goin' down, Spitzer will take New York, I see us winning Maryland and Massachusetts as well.

The have more troubles in the frying pan than they ever imagined.
But we must capitalize on their situation, and that will take lots of work.

|
Too many unknowns betwen now and then that could shift the picture one way or the other.
But if things stay as they are, I'd say it'll be a tight one that could go either way.

13. I heard on Ray Taliaferro |
|
that the repunks think there are 70 SEVENTY seats up for grabs in the House - and I think that with all that has gone on, that it is mid-terms which traditionally mean the WH party loses seats and the polls being so bad that it should be a BLOOD BATH for the repunks in the House and maybe even in the Senate
BUT and this is a BIG BUT
I believe that a fair and accurate count of the votes will be critical. I am not one who subscribes to the theory that if we win big enough they can't steal it - if they can get into central tabulators they can change anything no matter how big the margin is. Therefore I believe the DNC shoud have stationed - at every seat that is a toss up - exit poll takers and then FIGHT LIKE HELL on ANY seat that smells to high heaven. Other wise we are completely screwed.

demand a huge reform in the way we do elections before then, and I don't see anyone starting a real movement to do so. There are people like me trying, but until we get some powerful politicians behind us to push for it, it's like more of the same corruption.

I'm very encouraged by the way candidates are being recruited, the quality of those candidates and the issues being raised. We've got a lot of hard work to do, but the payoff will be great.

I think it is too early to tell which seats will be vulnerable, especially in the house where most districts are drawn to be overwhelmingly Republican or overwhelmingly Democratic, but you sure have to like the way things are looking right now.

23. No but the gop majority will shrink |
|
It would be nice, but I just don't see a change in the overall majority. It's a big deficit to overcome. There are 17 D's up & 15 R's
So all 17 would have to keep their seats anad 6 out of 15 Rs would have to go down, just to get to 51.
Which 6?
I'm pretty sure Santorum is fucked here in PA, at least I hope so.
Who else is vulnerable and how confident are we that we won't lose even one of the 17?
