While I was stopped at a red light today
coming home from work, I look in my rear-view mirror (I like to see people's reaction to my sticker collection), and saw something strange. This guy was holding up a camera, and he takes a couple pictures of the back of my car!! I don't know if he took the pictures because he liked the stickers, or because he was piss*d off, or, maybe he was some FBI guy getting my tag number or what. Anyway, I've never had that happen before.

I have some stickers on the back that I'm quite proud of. "51% is not a mandate" "I think, therefore, I'm a Democrat" "If you aren't completely appalled, you haven't been paying attention" "Health care is a right, not a privilege" "Somewhere in Tx a village is missing it's idiot" "I'm far too informed to vote republican" "Draft Jenna and Babs first" "The Social Security Scheme, just another lie from George w Bush" "Real Christians leave the judging to God" "Support our Troops, Impeach Bush".

Anyway, most of the time I actually get thumbs up. Yesterday though, some guy actually flipped me off. And then today, the picture-taking dude. What do you think, was it friend, foe or FBI???

 :scared:

39. get a fukking clue
you may not know this, but there are plenty of people who'd kill you for being anti bush....surely you have a gun handy, and why you haven't got a camera?....did you just realize that the enemy is fantical? i hate reading about nice little liberals getting smashed up by nazipoos, but if they're at all surprised by it, then i hope the nazipoos hurt them so they never forget ...
actually, please forget the last statement. i respect your courage etc, but w/out a streak of ruthlessness, courage is just weakness and a goad to bullyboys (unless you're a saint, which is another matter)

44. Actually - no I'm not a saint.
But I'm also NOT a fool and I DO have a fucking clue. I do realize that some of the right wing fanatic bu$hco supporters are a little on the "crazy" side. With that said, I am also NOT going to sit around and DO NOTHING, even if doing my small part only means wearing my stickers on my car PROUDLY. I worked my ass off for Kerry/Edwards campaign only to have the election here in Ohio stolen. I've been pissed off since the 2000 stolen election and getting more pissed off by the hour. I hate this administration and I am not ashamed to show it. If some wacko goes nuts because of my stickers and my anti-bu$hco sentiment, then so be it. I am not your "nice little liberal". I am just an American citizen that stands up for what I believe in, and that isn't bu$hco and his criminal entourage!

48. you don't have to be a tough guy
or anything like that: just ready to call the cops if the punks threaten you. what upsets me, again is the 'goodness' of the good especially if/when confronted by the evil of the bad! but i see you know and hate the enemy as much as can be expected. to be honest, (and this depends too much upon the pigmedia) i'd like to hear about attacks upon the busheviks by americans, violent no-holds-barred ass kickings, with gopigs treed as a result....when that happens, i'll feel less concerned about DU'ers driving around with stickers id'ing them as anti busheviks....
so please don't be afraid to say 'pro american = anti bush'... just take care!
:)

9. Don't worry about it ...

Doesn't matter what he was doing. Don't let the fear of possibilities consume you.

As a part of his job, a friend of mine occasionally has to drive to a meet with people in a highly secured federal building. He has several bumper stickers of a similar variety. People look at him strange, and he assumes he is watched closely, but he refuses to remove them and has been doing this for years now.

10. Here's a radical idea . . .
Maybe he really liked them and wanted to "capture" them. That's quite a collection you have there, after all -- He might have just wanted to remember them. Everybody has digital cameras these days, even on phones. Think positive, I say.

35. Same story but I was taking the picture. Monday of this week
I went to the local grocery. Coming out of the store I found my car was parked beside a brand, spanking new, shiny red Jaguar something or other. Anyway, the beautiful car was covered from side to side on the back bumper and on the truck deck with Chimpy bumper stickers (that beautiful paint job...!). At least 10-15 of the usual GOP, Fascist Christian Taliban, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Well, I was in a particularly pissy mood because I just filled up my car. I was cussing to myself about everything Chimpy, Cheney, and the rest of cabal. Well, out of the corner of my eye I detect someone coming toward the car so I whipped out my handy dandy cell phone and pretended to take a photo of the bumper. (I DO have a cell phone, I DON'T know if there is a camera attach but I expect not.) Anyway that got this lady's attention and she asked me what I was doing. I told her I was taking a picture of her bumper stickers. She grinned from ear to ear and ask me if I was a Bush fan. Very politely I said, "No, of course not." She let that one go by but did ask why I needed a picture of her bumper. I said I was going to enter it into a contest on the internet. I told her (okay, I'm telling her a "hugh" lie here) that I want to win a sweatshirt at a web site called fuckingmoronsofthegop.com. They get a real good chuckle out of stuff like this.

Now she decides to get pissy back (repugs have NO sense of humor) and said I don't have permission to take a picture of her car. Told her that I didn't need to but I would be kind enough to blur her license plate if she wished. Told her I really thought I could away with posting anything I want since the Patriot Act had taken all of our freedoms - hers along with mine. She was fair game to me just like I am fair game to the feds. She called me a weirdo, seem very flummoxed, I climbed in my little red car with the DU bumper sticker very tastefully displayed, gave a little wave and off I went. It helped to get a little of the pissy out of my system for a while. Not long, but for a little while.

I have visions of her spending hours on the "internets" looking for the web site to see if she made the big time.

Silly, of course, productive, not really, but it was funny. Her look was priceless when I rattle off the web site name. I don't know what is coming over me, I didn't use to do things like this, I'm thinking it will get better in Nov. 2006 & 2008.

to see the look on the rePuke B's face! That had to be a priceless Kodak moment. Sometimes it's nice to be a little bit P-O'd, isn't it? Kinda makes you say things you wouldn't normally say! And, that was some quick thinking, rattling off a website like that!! I'll have to remember that line and use it for another appropriate occasion!!

29. Car at a red light in front of me...
I had my fundie mother with me and the car in front of me had some nice stickers.

'Obedient women are never remembered in history'
'Save the trees, cut a Bush'

There were a couple of others I don't remember. I smiled and chuckled. My mother gave a good-natured one, but I could tell the bush one bugged her.

It certainly would do that. Knowing how my mother is, I won't. She keeps her nose stuck in the bible pretty deep and is a bush loyalist all the way. It's just not worth it because any reasonable discussion with her won't go anywhere.

Good shirt, BTW :)

Because by the time I get home, I can never remember what the sticker said.

There was one time I happened to have my camera and I took a photo of a parked car with "Drop Bush On Baghdad" written with white shoe polish on their bumper. Of course, I was laughing while taking the pic, so I'm sure they knew all was okay.

54. back before the election,
my friend and I took our kids to a Kerry rally in New Hampshire. While walking back to the garage after the rally (we never got in - waited 4 hours, and it was a zoo), I saw some guy (with a little kid,no less) taking pictures of my friend's min-van (bumper stickers like "hail to the thief" and such). I thought it was curious, and a little sinister, but I didn't say anything - we had our kids with us, and I didn't want to make a scene. Weird though.
